AWS Case Study: flydubai

Author: FlyNava | Category: Cloud Case Study | Date: 30-11-2023

From seamless booking to enhanced security: AWS empowers flydubai’s customer-centric approach.

AWS Case Study: flydubai

The Challenge FlyDubai aims to provide a consistent experience for customers from booking to arrival at their final destination that is personalized to each customer's preferences.

The airline wanted to develop an application that would aggregate and help end user experience without manual processes intervening.

To obtain approval to develop the application, the Flydubai team with Flynava had to build a prototype quickly. The application had to draw information from ATPCO while complying with the airline’s strict data security requirements. The data platform had to be cost-effective, scalable to meet varying demand peaks, and deliver data globally in milliseconds.

Why Amazon Web Services (AWS)

To avoid a lengthy capital expenditure approval process, Flydubai opted for AWS due to its capability, maturity, and proven track record. AWS’s ability to scale up and down, without locking into specific resource consumption, impressed Flydubai. The AWS Management Console provided clear visibility into usage and spending. IT security specialists in Flydubai were satisfied with AWS’s security for data in the cloud environment.

Services Used by Flydubai on AWS

-Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) - Provides resizable computing capacity for -supporting variations in demand. -Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) - Offers fully redundant data storage. -Talend - Runs on Amazon EC2 instances, delivering the application and using web services to provide access to data for the airline.

The Benefits

Flydubai used AWS to develop and deploy the application, achieving several benefits:

Application usage by end users for flight bookings on both domestic and international flights.

Improved understanding of AWS cloud computing by partnering with Flynava. Key benefits of AWS include meeting airline security requirements, rolling out the pilot program in just 12 weeks, and gathering data and insights for enhancing customer experience.
